Winter Newsletter 2017

I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas break! Here are a few things to keep in mind as we move into the new year:

3rd Annual Pancake Party

Our 3rd Annual Pancake Party will take place on March 18th, from 10 am-12pm. This is a VERY casual recital, in which students participate in a short recital (no memorization required), eat some delicious pancakes, and then play games! Pyjamas are welcome :). While this party is for students only, I will be recruiting some parents to help me manage the chaos. If you are interested, please let me know!

Kiwanis

This Kiwanis Festival Registration is now open! Students wishing to compete can go online to kelownakiwanisfestival.com and register. Piano competitions run from April 23rd-28th. For those not interested in competing but are curious about the event, all competitions are open to the public, and I encourage you to go listen!

RCM Exams

Students planning on doing Royal Conservatory exams must register online at rcmusic.ca by March 7th. I strongly recommend students take an exam at least every two years, in order to make sure benchmarks are met. For older students, completing Grade 6-9 Piano and their co-requisite theory classes will provide high school accreditation for Arts Grades 10-12.

Online Portal

Don’t forget! Newsletters are available in electronic form via the online student portal, which you can access at musickelowna.com.
If you do not have any login information for said portal, please let me know! It is a great way to stay up to date with studio events.

Make Up Lesson Day
Feb. 13th, 10am-12pm

This is a make-up lesson day for classes I missed due to sickness in December. Time slots will be available in 30 minute increments starting at 10:00 am, with the last one available at 2:30 pm.
There will be a sign up sheet in my studio; parents/students are welcome to sign up in person or shoot me a quick text or email to reserve a time.
